SHOP SET ON FIRE IN MAY PEN A JLP OPERATIVE

The shops of two Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) operatives were set on fire in May Pen, Clarendon late Wednesday evening in an incident that is alleged to be politically motivated.

The Sevens Road shop of JLP polling division captain in Clarendon Central Sandra Mills was destroyed while that of JLP councillor caretaker for the May Pen West Division Lorraine Green Mason was damaged.

Mills said she lost more than $300,000 in goods in the blaze while Mason reported losses of $100,000 saying only a section of the structure was damaged.

The fire was extinguished by two fire units.

According to Green Mason, she knows the culprits and the incident was politically motivated.
